  The Weekly Roost

November 10th/2009

Welcome to the first edition of new feature here at roost clothing.com “The Weekly Roost”! That’s right were trying to change it up here a bit at Roost head quarters and give all you guys a reason to check out Roost Clothing on a weekly basis and see what going on with us here in Roost land. So consider this the new Roost Clothing official news letter! I’m not going to promise that it will be up every week on time, or on any particular day. We all know how busy we all get in life and how stuff can sometimes get out of control when were all doing a million things. So make sure you check back weekly and see what I’m able to post up!

A lot of things have come and gone here at Roost Clothing these days. Another year of Canadian Motocross nationals are in the books. We had a strong presence in the CMRC Monster Energy motocross nationals this year with the Roost team with some really strong riders representing us who were Kyle Beaton, PJ Stratton, Jared and Parker Allison, Brock Hoyer and Denaye and Amber Giroux in the ladies classes! The Roost team put up some strong performances. Including a Montreal Supercross win by Kyle Beaton, some podiums by Brock Hoyer and Denaye Giroux as well as some top fives by every one else in their respected classes. Look for the official 2010 Motocross Roost team to be announced soon and be sure to check out the Team Roost page and read all our athletes profiles. Also be sure to check out mxpmag.com or our friends over at Direct Motocross for updates on all these riders!

hoyerThe Nex-Trax Arenacross series kicked off last weekend. Roost Riders Kyle Beaton and Brock Hoyer are two title contenders going into it. Both of them put it on the box in every main other then the last open main where they were both docked for jumping the gate. Keep it up guys!

On the other side of things going on here. I was able to catch up with Roost Athlete and Canadian Olympic hopeful Matt Morison who will be competing for Team Canada in the men’s Giant Salmon Alpine Snowboarding this February in the Olympics. Matt was out at Roost Fest this past weekend and said he is looking more forward then ever to this season. After winning some World cup events last year on the World Cup circuit be sure to watch for Matt going for Gold in 2010. Also check this out here.http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/21413/Vancouver-2010-Gains-Olympic-Gold/ Matt will be on the official 2010 Vancouver Olympic Video game! Good job Buddy! Also check out the show “Over the Bolts”. It’s a reality T.V. show of Canada’s Olympic snowboard team and gives you a look into what Matt does for a living and how hard he works.girls

Some of Roost’s new line is now in for winter including men’s hoodies and Woman’s long sleeve shirts be sure to check them out today and get yours before they sell out! Also make sure you check out the gallery as Roost models Lindsay and Meaghan did a great job of showing off the new clothes!

Every week I’m going to try to touch on a subject here. Whether it is giving my opinion on something or telling a story I'll be sharing something weekly. This week I want to touch on the people in Canadian Motocross and how much of good people most of them are. Every group has their bad apples but I think I can say from my own experiences that almost everyone at the track is willing to help each other out. I’d like give a shout out to all my good friends at the track especially the Allison’s, the Stratton’s, the Knowles and their head man Mike Smith as well as Blackfoot rider Kyle Beaton who are always there to offer an extending hand if needed.
This summer me and my buddy Luke decided we would head out on our street bikes from Bowmanville Ontario and ride to the River glade national. Well after an eventful trip there we made it and enjoyed some good races! Thanks to Spencer Knowles and the Stratton family for letting us crash in their motor home and fifth wheel. We headed out Monday morning for the trek home but Luke got cursed with mechanical failure just outside Quebec city and we were stranded on the side of the highway. Not for long though! Like it was set up the Stratton’s went flying by and immediately pulled over to give us a hand with the bike. Soon after Mike Smith, Kyle Beaton and Spencer Knowles were pulled over to and before you knew it we had the big Kawasaki 1300 Ninja loaded up in Spencer’s trailer and off we were!

Good friends were there at the right time and had no problem going out of their way to help some one in need! After that we loaded up both Street bikes in the back of a pick up and Kyle Beaton and Mike Smith drove us all the way back to Ontario. So I just want to give a big shout for all those guys who helped us out that weekend as well as every other time they were there for me or the Roost Clothing gang.

I would also like to thank everyone who came out to Roost Fest this past weekend at the Carruthers Ranch MX facility. It was fun time full of good people, dirtbikes and a little bit of field action in the mix! That’s all I have for this week guys. Enjoy the new site and be sure to let us know what you think. If you ever want to comment on anything here or something you want me to post up or if your just up for a bench race section or just want to call me an idiot on one of my opinions I would love to hear it! Be sure to shoot me an email at kyle@roostclothing.com.

Thanks for checking us out! Till next time keep your hand on the throttle!
